Kiwanis Club of Washingtonville Presents Flags For Heroes
Learn about how the Kiwanis Club of Washingtonville is providing an opportunity for us to recognize our heroes.

What is a Hero?
“Hero” is described in the dictionary as a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
Does this describe someone in your life?
Is your hero someone who served in the military or perhaps a first responder such as a firefighter, police officer, or an EMS tech? Maybe it’s the doctor who saved a family member, a nurse in a COVID‐19 unit, CNA who held mom’s hand in the nursing home when you couldn’t visit? Maybe your hero is a teacher who took the extra time to help your child adjust to online learning, a frontline worker, a relative, or neighbor who is always there to help?
Heroes come in many forms and don’t they all deserve to be recognized?
The Kiwanis Club of Washingtonville’s Flags for Heroes is the perfect time to honor your personal hero, past or present, by sponsoring an American Flag that will be on display from August 28 through September 18. For a $50 donation, a 3’x5’ flag with a personalized medallion with your hero’s name on it will fly proudly. Orders are now being accepted through July 18. Get your orders in early while supplies last. Following the event, the medallion will be sent to your hero or a recipient of your choice.
Join us on Saturday, August 28 at 11:00 am for the Presentation of Heroes, a special ceremony, at the Firefighters Memorial Park, Ahern Boulevard in Washingtonville, NY.
